Interested in joining us on our journey? The Manufacturing Team Leader role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the production process within a manufacturing facility. This role involves managing a team of operators and technicians to ensure efficient workflow, adherence to safety standards, and high-quality output. The Team Leader will facilitate communication between management and team members, monitor production schedules, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.<h2></h2><h2>Position</h2>Manufacturing Team Leader - 2nd Shift<h2></h2><h2>Location</h2>USA, Decatur, AL<h2>How You'll Create Possibilities</h2>Essential Responsibilities:The responsibility of the Manufacturing Team Leader role can include but not be limited to the following: <ul><li>Work with VSLs and associates to ensure work is performed safely and within EHS guidelines. </li><li>Ensure all operators have PPE & provide coaching feedback when non-compliance is observed. </li><li>Report any unsafe hazards or conditions to VSL/EHS Rep & help resolve the issues. </li><li>Coordinate employees and jobs to prevent incidents from becoming injuries. </li><li>Utilize ergonomic principles/guidelines to reduce chance of illness/injury. </li><li>Set example and lead employees in keeping work areas clean & orderly. </li><li>Responsible for monitoring/communicating any process, assembly or product abnormalities to VSL. </li><li>Ensure inspections are performed & equipment is in good working order. </li><li>Utilize 6S tools to maintain area. </li><li>~ Escalate issues to VSL, safety, quality, materials, maintenance and production. </li><li>Coordinate and perform training for new//current employees as well as clarifying proper work procedures. </li><li>Lead team efforts to collect and analyze data to improve quality, downtime and efficiency in the department. </li><li>Use Hour by Hour charts to report, track and communicate production yields and numbers. </li><li>Know & utilize work order process & communicate with maintenance for needs & priorities. </li><li>Be an active team player serving as a backup for other team roles. </li><li>Become familiar with all support areas to assist/cover VSL as needed. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned as we continue to grow in our Lean Journey. </li></ul>Qualifications/Requirements: <ul><li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>6 months of previous manufacturing experience in a leadership role such as a team lead role and demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes & equipment.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities. </li><li>Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and prioritize in fast-paced environments. </li><li>Familiar and can use Microsoft Office tools: WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK. </li><li>Must be reliable and willing to work overtime, weekends and shutdowns as required to meet business needs.</li></ul><h2>What You'll Bring to Our Team</h2>Desired Characteristics:<ul><li>Associate's Degree or some college education</li><li>Prior assembly or production experience in fast paced, high volume manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred </li><li>Prior experience assembling mechanical components</li><li>Knowledge of safe shop operation practices</li><li>Ability to identify maintenance issues with machinery or equipment</li></ul><h2>Our Culture</h2>Our work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
