Senior Director, Health Answers by Pfizer Tech Lead
**ROLE SUMMARY**
**Background** : Health Answers by Pfizer, is a new consumer health & wellness digital product developed in support of our Purpose Blueprint Big Idea 3.1, placing health information at people's fingertips. Health Answers by Pfizer is powered by generative AI and provides up to date, relevant answers to any health & wellness question. It summarizes information from trusted and credible organizations that have high standards for maintaining a science-based approach and editorial independence. Consumers can ask any health or wellness question and get a clear answer. They can ask follow-up questions or choose from suggested ones, and it will retain the context of their prior question. If they want to dive deeper on a particular topic, they can scroll down for relevant articles, videos, and things to try at home. They can also easily connect with an expert when needed.
**Job Overview** : We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Technical Director to join our Health Answers by Pfizer team. This role will be the tech lead on Health Answers by Pfizer. This person will work directly with the VP of Technology on Health Answers by Pfizer, the solution delivery leads and the delivery teams to architect new features, update existing features, choose technology strategies and bring innovative thinking and approaches. Must be at the forefront of Generative AI and software development.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ **Technical Strategy:** This role requires someone who is a technical visionary that is forward thinking and clear-headed. Must be able to:
+ Anticipate upcoming technical needs
+ Bring appropriate technical approaches
+ Communicate the technical strategy effectively to stakeholders and delivery teams
+ **High Level Architecture:** This role is the lead architect for a highly visible consumer product. Must be able to:
+ Put together high-level technical architectures that both describe current and future state of Health Answers by Pfizer technical stack
+ Drive decisions related to technical platform
+ **Vendor Management:** This role is the face of Health Answers by Pfizer to multiple vendors, including both platform vendors and delivery vendors. Will be required to:
+ Negotiate vendor and platform contracts and SOWs
+ Procure the best technology in place to meet the needs of the team
+ **Program Leadership:** This person will communicate all technology strategy to the Health Answers by Pfizer pilot in command and program stakeholders. Responsible for:
+ Explaining technical decisions in ways that non-technical folks can understand
+ Being highly collaborative with Product Lead and Pilot in Command
+ Problem solving on the fly and thinking on their feet.
+ **Innovative Thinking:** This person is responsible for bringing innovation and consistently needs to:
+ Create novel solutions and champion out of the box ideas for solving technical, architectural and process challenges
+ Have deep familiarity with Generative AI, AI agents, microservices and large-scale cloud architecture
+ **Delivery Management:** This role includes the technical delivery team. Responsible for:
+ Managing the delivery management function and teams
+ Manage the delivery vendors
+ This role is responsible for uptime on Health Answers by Pfizer, including:
+ All underlying technical platforms (AWS, Azure, Cloudflare, Adobe, etc.)
+ Monitoring via monitoring solutions (currently Dynatrace)
+ **Product Uptime:**
+ Working with on-call support teams when outages occur
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
+ **Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field w/ at least 12 years of applicable experience
+ A Master's degree is preferred
+ **Experience:**
+ Proven experience in software development, large-scale applications, Generative AI, or a related field.
+ Experience in consumer digital products and associated technical project management roles is highly desirable.
+ **Analytical Skills:**
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
+ **Communication Skills:**
+ Strong communication and presentation skills.
+ Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
+ **Technical Skills:**
+ Strong proficiency in software development.
+ Expert technical and solutions architecture centered on AWS.
+ Deep Generative AI skill and experience using Generative AI within software applications.
+ **Collaboration:**
+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
+ Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Experience leading cross-functional teams.
+ **Industry Knowledge:**
+ Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Generative AI.
+ Understanding of the consumer health and wellness or healthcare industry is a plus.

+ Master's Degree

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
